Sharing a new layout for this week's sketch at Let's Get Sketchy.
The layout is all about my son and the water. He had a huge year this year . . . he used to not really enjoy the water and has been afraid to put his face in as long as I can remember. Years of swimming lessons did nothing to improve the situation. We had tried goggles to keep the water out of his eyes, but it didn't seem to help or make him more comfortable at all. We had a huge breakthrough this year on vacation in Hawaii when we gave him a pair of snorkelling goggles which not only covered his eyes, but his nose as well. Well - voila - - now we have a swimmer. Keeping the water out of his nose did the trick. He now loves the water and over the summer he even learned to swim without the goggles. He is now officially a little fish & is in the water any chance he gets!
This was a great sketch to work with - I increased the scale of it to accommodate my larger photos - but otherwise kept most of the elements of the design.
